Understanding “I Do It For Me”

Something almost every woman intuitively understands and many men are utterly baffled (even tempered) by is the statement “I do it for me.”

When she puts on lipstick to go to the grocery store.

When she snaps a beautiful selfie and posts it.

When she puts on mascara to head to the gym.

When she eloquently moves her hips as she walks.

When she dances and moves sensually.

It is literally all for her.

To understand the nature of the feminine you need to understand that what fulfills a woman spiritually are the energies of love and radiance (or light). When she says “I do it for me” it is the act of creating more light within her body and psyche. For her to feel alive, turned on, be able to give and lead from her heart she must be poured into first and every time she does something that encapsulates the “I do it for me” energy is an act of pouring into herself.

When this is accepted and she is confident in owning this aspect of herself she has so much more awakened energy that she naturally devotes to you, to her creative work, to her children, to her spirit. It allows her to step into more fullness.

It can be a devastating misconception that the intent behind something so sacred and instinctual to the feminine be seen as attention seeking insecurity or “thirst traps.” The subtle shaming and degradation of “I do it for me,” can shut down a woman’s connection to her spirit and sexuality - both of which make her come alive and attract you to her in the first place.

To understand the nature of women, one must first accept that in its purest form it is wild, no matter how much we’ve tried to domesticate it and even for the woman who struggles with the dichotomy of her nature and what society or a lover expects of her, she cannot neglect the simple act of doing something for her without collapsing the wild in her spirit.
